WLS PD Brian Thomas tells Robert Feder he hopes the legendary Chicago radio host is back on the air in June. Biondi has been off the air since April, recovering from some sort of leg ailment. The 84-year old did release this statement about his status….
“I have heard from so many people regarding my absence from 94.7 WLS. I wanted to take a moment to say thank you! Thank you to the fans, Cumulus Broadcasting staff and management of WLS for showing me how much I mean to you. I will tell you, you all mean the world to me as well.
As for an update, I am at home recuperating from this leg issue. My doctor has assured me they doing all they can to get me back into fighting shape and I look forward to getting back on the air as soon as they say I’m ready! I want nothing more than to get back to entertaining the greatest radio audience in the greatest city in the world.”
Get well soon Dick..I remember back in the days when you use to be live at some drive in restaurant in calumet city but I forgot the name & the fireworks place in Hammond Indian..We use to listen to you on the line when I worked at ford motor co Chicago assemble plant..you made our day go faster
My husband and I are both from the Chicago area and now living in Tampa Florida. We were just reminiscing about Sick Biondi that there is no one like him here
in Florida radio.
