Rome Staying With CBS Radio

Jim Rome has signed a new multi-year deal with CBS Sports Radio. Rome’s show is heard from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. on the CBS Sports Network. Rome also anchors three editions of the syndicated CBS Sports Minute. Details and length of the deal were not revealed.

Rome said, “This is a huge day for the show. CBS Radio is an unbelievable place, everything I had hoped it would be and more. There have been so many exciting changes in the industry and I’m as motivated as ever to capitalize on them with CBS Sports Radio, our affiliates and sponsors, and our business partners at Westwood One. My thanks to Andre Fernandez, Chris Oliviero, Eric Spitz, and everyone involved in making CBS Sports Radio a success in the first four years.”

Broadcast Company of the Americas President and Market Manager Mike Glickenhaus tells Radio Ink he was the first to syndicate Rome on 690-AM Tijuana/San Diego. The call letters back then (in 1996) were XTRA (or officially XETRA)
