The renowned St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital finds itself on the end of more radio support. This time it’s 95.3 The Bull, Portsmouth NH’s New Hit Country. The second annual Country Cares For Kids Radiothon raised over $26,000 to benefit the leading health care provider and research center for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The radiothon was a two-day, live fundraising broadcast, which took place on February 2 and 3 from 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. each day. Listeners were encouraged to call a toll-free number and become a Partner In Hope by committing to donate $20 or more every month, or make a one-time donation to St. Jude.

“We know that $20 every month can be a significant amount of money, but the Seacoast community stepped up and showed their generosity,” said Lance Houston, Program Director for 95.3 The Bull. “Donating less than a dollar a day can make a significant impact in the lives of children fighting cancer.”

Since its opening in 1962, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has helped improve the survival rate of childhood cancer from 20 to 80 percent.
