Beasley’s new HD-2 format in Tampa is called Playa 106.9, which will also be simulcast on 92.5 (WYUU-HD2). It will feature Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata, with artists including Marc Anthony, Juan Luis Guerra, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and Luis Enrique.
PD Nio Fernandez said, “The classic Salsa format is what we have offered on WYUU-HD2 for more than five years under the flag of ‘Maxima Exitos’ and we are extremely proud to launch the fresh rebranding named ‘Playa’ on 106.9 FM.” The new format launches with 10,000 songs in a row.
