First they were, then they weren’t, now it appears they are again. According to The New York Post, SiriusXM Chairman Greg Maffei told some shareholders this week that the satellite company is still interested in buying Pandora. The Post reports Maffei saying, “Sirius would look at [Pandora] at the right price.”
This past Summer there were reports that Maffei reached out to Pandora’s board and made an offer to buy the company for $15.00 per share. CFO David Frear threw cold water on any deal by telling people at CES that an offer for Pandora is “not likely.” And now this week, according to The Post, Maffei told investors at a private dinner on Tuesday that SiriusXM was still interested.
