Pandora: We Will Beat Our Numbers

The streaming pure play blasted out several press releases late Thursday hoping to convince investors the company is strong and has an eye toward making a profit.

The company expects to exceed its previously announced Q4 revenue numbers due to a strong advertising quarter, and Pandora says it now has 4.3 million paid subscribers. In addition, the new Pandora Plus, with new features and functionality, generated over 375,000 new subscribers.

CEO Tim Westergren said, “During the fourth quarter, we accelerated our core advertising business, increased advertising RPM, and saw strong improvements in adjusted EBITDA. Now, with all of the elements of our strategy in place, we are in the best position possible to expand our listener base, drive engagement, and deliver significant value to all of our stakeholders.”
