Last time a story leaked out about ESPN Radio was when Steven A. Smith was rumored to be coming back from SiriusXM. That story turned out to be true, of course. Now there are reports circulating in the national press that Mike Greenberg is leaving the long-running morning show on ESPN radio that he hosts with Mike Golic. They’ve been together for nearly 20 years. Sports Illustrated was the first to report that Greenberg will be moving on to host a new TV show.
Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated reported that Mike Greenberg will be moving over to TV to host of a television show that would air in the mornings on ESPN. Greenberg and Golic have been together since 1998. They were on the cover of Radio Ink in 2013. Mike Golic Jr. started working at ESPN recently and has been one of the names mentioned as a possible replacement for Greenberg, which would pair him with his father.
ESPN had no comment on the story.
