The Radio Television Digital News Foundation has announced the winners of its 2017 First Amendment Awards. The First Amendment Leadership Award goes to Hubbard CEO Stanley Hubbard and the First Amendment Service Award to ABC Radio News Vice President and General Manager Steve Jones.
The Leadership Award is given to a leader who has made a significant contribution to the protection of the First Amendment and freedom of the press. The Service Award honors professionals in local or network news who work in an off-air, management, largely behind-the-scenes role. The awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, DC on Tuesday, March 14, 2017.
