14-year KRNA-FM/Cedar Rapids PD Gregg “Shark” Scharnau lost his 15-month battle with pancreatic cancer last week. He was only 49. Scharnau began his career at KDTH-AM/KATF-FM in his hometown of Dubuque and spent time on air in Princeton, Illinois, before settling in at KRNA in the late 90s. A celebration of Scharnau’s life will be held Wednesday.
