For years advertisers have been shifting their marketing dollars to digital and there is no indication that is slowing down. On Monday three companies made ad revenue growth predictions for the year ahead at the UBS Media Conference in New York and all three stated that digital will continue its explosive growth.

Magna projects ad revenue will grow 3.6% in 2017 and stated digital-based ad sales will become the top media category reaching a market share of 40% ($202 billion), compared to TV ($186 billion, 36%). The company also said digital will take 50% of the market by 2021 ($299 billion). GroupM called for a growth rate of 4.4% in 2017 and projects digital’s share of global ad expenditure will be 33% in 2017. Zenith also projected 4.4% growth in 2017 and Zenith expects the Internet to overtake television to become the largest single advertising medium.
