No, not the movie star (his spelling is Hoffman). This is the KLGR Redwood Falls, MN, Farm Director, who has been honored with two farm reporting awards. On November 19, the Minnesota Farmers’ Union named Hoffmann the 2016 Agriculture Communicator of the Year for excellence in agricultural reporting for the television, radio, print, and Internet media. Hoffmann brought home the bacon for radio. On the same day, the Redwood Area Cattlemen’s Association awarded both Hoffmann and Mark Malacek – who cohost and produce Beef News and Notes on KLGR – their new Hot Shot Award.
Minnesota Farmers’ Union President, Doug Peterson said, “The accurate reporting of agricultural information is not something we take lightly, and we think that Dustin deserves this award. He has a very bright future ahead of him.”
Fawn McNamara of the Redwood County Cattlemen’s Association added, “This award was created to honor two individuals who have made a great impact in the beef industry. On behalf of the Redwood Area Cattlemen’s Association, Mark and Dustin, we cannot thank you enough for all you have done. Your dedicated service does not go unnoticed, and we are beyond grateful.”
Hoffmann has been employed at KLGR since February of 2010 and Farm Director since July 2014. He was also nominated for the 2016 Minnesota Farm Bureau Ag Reporting Award, and the 2016 NAFB Horizon Award.
