It was a 13-hour radiothon on October 26, and it really paid off, to the tune of $17,180. Aurora and Joliet stations, 95.9 The River (WERV) and Q. Rock 100.7 (WRXQ) were the hosts, with proceeds going to Variety: The Children’s Charity, which focuses on improving the quality of life for children with disabilities by providing them with equipment and experiences needed to reach their highest potential. In addition to the cash, four adaptive bikes were donated.
Alpha Media Market Manager, Brian Foster commented on the announcement, “We were very excited to work with Variety on our inaugural radiothon. A bike is an essential part of growing up, Variety helps to equip every child with a bike so they can make their own memories.”
