The 9th Annual Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner Radiothon was held Friday, October 21 in the Alamo Lounge and the accompanying radiothon raised over $131,000 to go towards the largest Thanksgiving dinner in the country. The Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner, named after the late Raul Jimenez, a local restaurateur, commenced 36 years ago serving meals to a couple of hundred people in need. The tradition called “A Feast of the Heart” has continued and today serves Thanksgiving Day meals to over 25,000 of most needy and elderly in San Antonio.

Alpha Media Operations Director,Greg Martin said, “It’s a great joy to partner with an organization that is pure San Antonio and gives back to the community in a big way each year.”

Raul’s daughter Patricia Jiminez said, “We’re appreciative of Alpha Media for hosting the radiothon for a ninth straight year and the generosity of the San Antonio community never ceases to amaze us. This was a record-breaking year of giving, and while we were so incredibly thrilled at the response, we were not surprised at the giving nature of the individuals that make up this great city. The support will enable us to create an unforgettable experience at our community table on Thanksgiving Day. It is truly a feast of the heart, in every sense of the word.”
