It’s Christmas in Arkansas

Earls Family Broadcasting in Arkansas has added a new radio station to its lineup. On Saturday, October 1, the new 98.1 FM, all-Christmas went on the air. Dubbed Branson’s Classic Christmas, the station will air Christmas music 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through December 25.

“The Christmas season in the Branson/Tri-Lakes area is undergoing a revitalization, and as the area’s hometown radio stations, of course we need to be a part of it,” explains Scott McCaulley, Operations Director at Earls Family Broadcasting. “Christmas is a community-wide effort.” The two stations, 98.1 FM and 1220 AM, will feature a mix of contemporary, classical, Christian, pop and country Christmas music, plus the popular “Customs of Christmas” segments. The goal is to help spread the Christmas spirit, and even help businesses improve their seasonal sales. But, why start pushing the Christmas season as early as October 1? “We’re a little crazy,” admits Sales Director Jim Earls. “Actually, our goal is to help businesses in the area get a jump on promoting Christmas.”
