Burger Kings Splashes Out On Ads

In a week that saw Geico hold its lead as radio’s biggest advertiser (38,647 spots), according to Media Monitors, Burger King leapt from #17 all the way to number two with 26,585 commercials aired. Close rival McDonald’s held onto the #3 spot with 26,102 ads, Walgreens rose two places to #4 (25,483), and AutoZone three places to round out the top five (24,786). The rest of the top 10 were Nabisco (23,271), JC Penney (21,071), the Department of Justice (20,872), ABC TV/cable (20,782), and CBS TV/cable (18,242).
