On August 8, 2014, Hubbard brought John Gallagher in to run the company’s Chicago cluster. On Monday he was let go. Hubbard Radio President/COO Drew Horowitz told Radio Ink, “We felt we needed to go in a different leadership direction.” Gallagher joined Hubbard from Cumulus where he was a Regional VP for Wisconsin and had managed markets in Ohio and Kansas. Prior to Cumulus, Gallagher was a GM for Greater Media Detroit and ABC Radio in Chicago.

The Hubbard Chicago cluster includes WTMX 101.9 FM (The Mix), WDRV 97.1 FM/WWDV 96.9 FM (The Drive), and WILV 100.3 FM (Chicago’s 100.3). Chicago is the largest market in the Hubbard Radio portfolio. CFO Dave Bestler will run the market until a replacement is hired.
