99.1TONY-FM has hit the airwaves in Utica, NY, and the format is…everything. Galaxy Communications CEO says,”Listening to TONY-FM is going to be wild. You will never know what’s coming up next! There will be a different type of music on the air with each song that’s played plus crazy songs popping up that no other radio station in the market plays.”
The format will include a wide variety of artists from all kinds of music genres. From Billy Joel and America, to Van Halen and Genesis, to Depeche Mode, Train, Wham! and Adam Ant, the playlist is packed with surprises. 99.1TONY-FM debuted Thursday morning with 10,000 songs in a row, and no commercials. 99.1 FM was broadcasting ESPN Radio, which can still be heard at 1310AM in Utica, 1350AM in Rome, and 1230 in Little Falls.

We (audiences) can enjoy or even tolerate just about anything – so long as the personalities can keep us engaged.
In other words: The music really is secondary.
Plus. the music can be adjusted occasionally, and in the time it takes to gag down a few pizzas.
Adjusting personalities is a bigger, difficult and often – a much more tedious chore.
