Taking a page from the Townsquare playbook, Ed Levine’s Galaxy Communications in Syracuse is buying Hops & Props Craft Beer Fest and Taste of Flight Wine Expo. Eric Bell, who owns the events, will be staying on with the new Galaxy Events division and the company will be opening a Long Island office. This was a private deal; the price of the purchase was not announced.
Levine said, “Buying these two terrific events gives us a foothold into the Long Island market. Having Eric Bell on staff will give us further ability to expand and scale our events division beyond merely where we own radio stations.”
In other Galaxy news, Media Services Group broker Bob Heymann tells us Galaxy has purchased a construction permit for a South Burlington, Vermont, translator for $67,500 from a Florida company called Sun Signals.
