Summer might be drawing to a close but it’s better to go out with a bark than a whimper. And that’s how Westwood One sees it, presenting a pair of four-hour Labor Day specials that keep the energy way up. The specials – the pop-themed Take the Day Off and rock-themed Labor Day Pool Party – present highlights of the summer of 2016, along with all the music that’s quintessentially summer. Troye Sivan (pictured left) and rock band Fitz and the Tantrums (pictured below) will be the respective hosts.
Troye Sivan is best known for his latest single “Wild,” featuring Alessia Cara, and accompanying MTV VMA-nominated trilogy videos “Wild,” “Fools,” and “Talk Me Down,” which have racked up an astonishing 43 million-plus views. Fitz and the Tantrums, meanwhile, made a splash with the soulful R&B-revival sound of their debut album, 2010’s Pickin’ Up The Pieces and then offered up a New Wave-influenced dance-pop sound with 2013’s Heatseekers #1 “More Than Just A Dream.”
