Burke And Blondie Beat Cumulus in Court

1

Former WHNN Saginaw hosts Johnny Burke and Blondie are allowed to keep their online show after a federal judge ruled in their case. U.S. District Judge Thomas Ludington said the internet show the two former Cumulus employees are now hosting is not a radio station, as defined by their non-competes, and the show can continue. There were a few stipulations though.

The two morning show hosts were fired in January and filed a lawsuit against Cumulus, claiming age discrimination. Cumulus filed a counter-suit claiming the two have violated their noncompetes by broadcasting an identical show online. The judge did order the hosts to stop soliciting current and former Cumulus advertisers and to stop using the WHNN call letters to promote the show.
