810 & 103.1 WGY and 99.5 The River — both in Albany, NY — announced Friday that the 18th annual Cares for Kids Radiothon raised more than $280,000 for the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center. The 25-hour live broadcast took place May 5 and 6, and encouraged the local community to support Albany Medical Center’s pediatric health care programs by donating. Throughout the radiothon, on-air personalities broadcast live from Albany Medical Center alongside its pediatric patients and their families.

Randy McCarten, iHeartMedia Operations Manager, said, “In April, The River showcased an online video entitled ‘Stand By Me’ on our station websites, featuring the courageous patients and dedicated staff from the Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center. During the Cares for Kids Radiothon, we again shared their amazing stories of treatment, and our listeners responded in a big way to support the Children’s Hospital.”
