New KFOG morning host and respected rock jock Matt Pinfield has been selected to host a new two-hour weeknight show, 2Hours with Matt Pinfield. The show will launch the week of May 2 and has a roster of stations lined up, including WKQX-FM/Chicago, WFTK-FM/Cincinnati, KXXR-FM/Minneapolis, KATT-FM/Oklahoma City, and WEDG-FM/Buffalo.  The show will feature artist interviews and stories about the bands and the songs from the core library of active and alternative rock.

Pinfield started in radio at the age of 16 at Rutgers-owned WRSU/New Brunswick. He moved on to WHTG-FM/Asbury Park, and by 1995 was hosting 120 Minutes for MTV. He is also the current host of Westwood One’s classic rock-history weekend show, Flashback, and the new morning show at KFOG-KFFG/San Francisco.

Kirk Stirland, President of Programming for Westwood One, said, “There is nothing like getting Matt talking about rock music, and I’m not sure there is anyone who has a deeper knowledge and connection to the format and its artists. He’s overflowing with great ideas for 2Hours, and we can’t wait to get this going.”
