The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation will present WABC’s Joan Hamburg with the Gracies Lifetime Achievement Award at its 41st Annual Awards Luncheon June 21st in New York City. The Gracies recognize exemplary programming created by women, for women and about women in all facets of media.

Known as New York’s “First Lady of Radio,” Hamburg was inducted into the New York State Broadcasters’ Hall of Fame in 2012 and was named “New Yorker of the Year” by the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce due to her dedication in improving the quality of lives for those throughout the New York metropolitan area. In addition to numerous other awards, Hamburg is an accomplished author and columnist.

Cumulus CEO Mary Berner says, “The significance of a Lifetime Achievement award is unto itself an amazing achievement. Joan Hamburg is the first lady of New York radio and we at Cumulus, Westwood One and WABC are privileged to work with her. Congratulations Joan on being recognized with this award from the Alliance for Women in Media. It serves as a milestone to what has been a remarkable career to date and what promises to be the continuation of your pioneering for all women in media.”
