That’s according the first-quarter edition of BIA/Kelsey’s Investing In Radio Market Report. That’s slightly down from 2014, which BIA/Kelsey said was $14.9 billion. And it’s way off from the number the RAB reported in early March ($17.3 billion).
According to the 2015 BIA numbers, $14 billion in revenue came from over-the-air advertising, while $710 million came from digital. In 2014, BIA reported $14.3 billion from over-the-air and $636 million from digital.
BIA/Kelsey Senior VP and Chief Economist Mark Fratrik tells Radio Ink the drastic difference in numbers between the RAB and BIA/Kelsey is due to the fact that the RAB reports network advertising and NTR and BIA/Kelsey only includes over-the-air and digital.
