Automotive News reports that the month of March could be one of the strongest months ever for the U.S. auto industry. Sales are expected to increase at least 7 percent from a year ago. Several forecasts for radio’s number one ad category predict 1.6 million vehicles could be sold this month. That would make March the sixth highest producing month since 1989. The SAAR projections for March range from 17.2 million to 17.3 million, compared with 17.12 million a year ago.
