Not right away anyway. And that had been one of the biggest concerns from the Radio industry, which may have even held up this product being released until now. The radio industry, of course, is a huge customer of Nielsen’s and was not in favor of having Pandora alongside radio in the ratings with Pandora being so aggressive coming after radio’s revenue. However, Nielsen says providing data from pure-play services like Pandora and Spotify is “in development.” This does mean radio will get a head start putting the combined data in front of advertisers on those companies.

  1. Whether we like it or not, Pandora, from an advertiser’s perspective, IS radio. The definition of everything from a ‘mouse’ which used to be a rodent, to SPAM, which used to come in a can, is changing.
    The budget for radio, comes from the same budget as all audio advertising. Advertisers don’t distinguish broadcast from satellite, streaming, or any other audio platform.
