Howard Joins WFPL’s Investigative Center

Veteran investigative reporter Kate Howard, has been hired by WFPL’s Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting (KyCIR). She will begin her position on April 11, 2016. Howard worked as a news reporter for nearly five years at The Tennessean, covering crime, courts and transportation. She also spent more than three years at The Florida Times-Union covering higher education, health and crime issues, and more than two years writing about higher education at The Omaha World-Herald. She has appeared on numerous news and crime shows to discuss her stories.

“Kate is a top-notch journalist and relentless in reporting stories that matter. She has deep digital media skills that will allow us to further connect with our growing audience. We are excited to have her aboard,” said KyCIR Managing Editor Brendan McCarthy.
