Cumulus No Longer Wants KSJO

The company is giving the San Jose station back to its owner, Universal Media, but does not want anyone to think this is a shot at the NASH brand. Cumulus launched NASH on KSJO back in June of 2014 with what everyone thought was a plan to purchase the station. That was when Lew Dickey was CEO. With Mary Berner now in charge, it’s clear that plan has changed. The official company statement is that the “station did not fit strategically based on Cumulus’ existing geographic footprint in the region.” Cumulus only had one employee at KSJO and is working on keeping that person a the San Francisco cluster.
