Daly XXL Communications, owners of 1510 WMEX in Quincy, MA, has hired Joe Shortsleeve who’ll be joined by strategist Diane McNamara for a live, Monday-Friday show from 10 a.m. – Noon. They’ll begin February 1 and will replace the station’s current offering of Boston Herald Radio’s “Morning Meeting.”
For the past decade, Shortsleeve served as Chief Correspondent and ITEAM reporter for WBZ-TV 4 in Boston. Throughout his nearly 25 years at WBZ, Shortsleeve covered some of the biggest news stories in the region from the Boston Marathon bombing to the search for John F. Kennedy Junior’s plane when it crashed off Martha’s Vineyard. While Shortsleeve was at WBZ, the station won several major journalistic awards including an Edward R Morrow Award and, more recently, a Peabody Award.
