As stations start to flip back to there regular formats – or use the holiday music format – to change to a completely new format, Nielsen has released a list of the most played Christmas songs by radio stations across America this year. According to Nielsen’s December survey period, Brenda Lee’s Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree from 1962 was the top song airing 10,497 times, followed by Burl Ives’ A Holly Jolly Christmas (1965) which aired 10,394 times. Who else made the top ten?

9) Johnny Mathis – It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas – 1986 – 8,400
10) Bing Crosby – White Christmas – 1944 – 8,114
