The comment period is now open for a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking which includes technical proposals to improve LPFM reception and increase flexibility in siting while maintaining interference protection and the core LPFM goals of diversity and localism. Comments will be taken for 30 days. The FCC established the LPFM service in 2000 as a secondary, noncommercial radio service with a community focus. More details HERE.
