iHeart Audience Network held on to the top spot in Triton Digital’s latest US Podcast Ranker for August, though its once-wide lead over Audioboom and Cumulus Podcast Network continues to narrow, according to newly released weekly download figures.
iHeart posted 65.9 million average weekly downloads for the month, down from 66.7 million in May and 71.5 million in March. Audioboom followed at number two with 14.9 million average weekly downloads, also down from 15.4 million in May. Cumulus Podcast Network ranked number three with 2.9 million average weekly downloads, down from 3.1 million in May.
Among individual podcasts, Stuff You Should Know (iHeart Audience Network) held the number one spot based on downloads, followed by Pod Save America (Audioboom) at number two and My Favorite Murder with Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark (iHeart Audience Network) at number three.
Debuts for August included Burden of Guilt Season 3 (iHeart Audience Network), Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski (Audioboom) and Your Daily Bible Verse (Salem Podcast Network), among others.
