Cumulus Media’s 93.7 KISS Country (KSKS) in Fresno closed out its latest fundraising marathon for Central Valley kids, broadcasting live from the rotunda at Valley Children’s Hospital with hosts Kris & Joe, Erica Pierce, Greg Lane, and Jody Jo.
The radiothon raised $103,608 to benefit children and families served by Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera, CA. The total marks a jump from recent years’ hauls, which have run closer to $90,000. Throughout the day, the hosts shared stories of Central Valley families receiving care from the hospital, urging listeners to consider donating by phone, text, online, or by placing a bid at an online auction.
Founded by five mothers in 1949 and formally dedicated in 1952, the hospital has served Greater Fresno area families for more than seven decades. Although the annual radiothon has concluded, Valley Children’s Hospital is continuing to accept donations.
KSKS PD Andy Winford said, “I’m so proud of our air talent and our great partners at Valley Children’s Hospital and grateful we can be a small part of helping kids here in the Central Valley.”
