New RAB Certification Aims To Amp Marketers Up on Audio

Marketers now have a dedicated certification path for audio advertising. RAB has launched Audio Marketing Professional, or AMP, a new self-paced education program meant to help marketers, agencies, and media buyers plan, buy, create, and measure audio campaigns.

RAB developed the program with input from leaders across the marketing, agency, and radio communities, and RAB-member broadcasters can now share it as an educational resource with advertisers, agencies, and prospects.

Its curriculum covers the role of broadcast radio and audio in today’s media ecosystem, consumer behavior and engagement with audio, the power of sound and sonic branding, and measurement and business results, along with emerging trends shaping the category. Participants also learn how to plan and activate audio campaigns, optimize existing plans, create advertising, and extend audio beyond traditional spots through experiential marketing and influencer partnerships.

AMP’s first class, An Introduction to Radio and Audio in All Forms, is now available. The approximately 54-minute class is divided into 13 modules that participants can complete on their own schedule. At the end, participants take a short quiz and earn a digital completion badge they can add to an email signature or share on social media.

Once RAB launches the full AMP curriculum, participants who complete every class and assessment will earn the Audio Marketing Professional certification.

RAB President and CEO Mike Hulvey said, “Audio is a powerful part of consumers’ daily lives, yet marketers have lacked a dedicated professional credential focused on how to use it most effectively. AMP closes that gap with practical, actionable education that helps marketers make smarter audio decisions and deliver stronger outcomes. It also reinforces radio’s leadership within the broader audio landscape.”

RAB Audio Advisory Board Chair Jennifer Hungerbuhler said, “AMP gives marketers and agency professionals a clear, practical way to deepen their understanding of audio and put that knowledge to work. The curriculum reflects how media is planned and bought today, while giving participants the tools to use audio more intentionally, creatively, and effectively. The Audio Advisory Board is proud to help bring this important credential to the advertising community.”
