A Detroit-based morning show will be piped into Fort Myers starting this week to replace the recently canceled Bubba The Love Sponge on rocker WXRK. WRIF-FM's Dave & Chuck the Freak Morning Show will now be simulcast weekday mornings.

Dent Headed To The NBA Hall

The Nebraska Broadcasters Association of Broadcasters will welcome Dent Otradovsky into its Hall of Fame on August 14 in Lincoln, during the 84th Annual NBA Convention. Otradovsky is the owner and GM of KVSH-AM in Valentine -- the only station he's worked for in his 49-year radio career. He began at KVSH in 1969 as a DJ. 

ESPN New York Stars Sign Extensions

ESPN New York 98.7FM has reached multiyear contract extensions with local radio icons Michael Kay and Don La Greca to continue as host and co-host of the weekday afternoon drive show The Michael Kay Show (3-7 p.m.). They will continue to work alongside Peter Rosenberg.

Two New Region Presidents For iHeart

Paul Corvino (left) has been named Region President for Detroit and Nick Gnau for Philadelphia. Gnau was most recently the Region President for Detroit, where he oversaw Detroit, Grand Rapids, Toledo, and Muskegon. Corvino joins iHeart Detroit from Clear Channel Outdoor Americas, where he was Regional President for the Midwest.

NRG Parts Ways With Kurt Luchs

It was only five months ago that Kurt Luchs was moved from NRG's four-station cluster in Wausau-Stevens Point, Wisconsin, to run its seven-station cluster in Omaha. Luchs had been with NRG since 2013 and in 2017 he was named one of radio's Best Managers by Radio Ink. On Thursday, we found out Luchs is no longer with the company.

Host Hit With Bullet On 4th

KHTS Santa Clarita host Barry McKeever was in Nashville on the Fourth of July watching fireworks when debris started raining from the sky. According to the station website, McKeever said he felt a piece strike him in the shoulder and after one of his children saw the wound he realized it wasn’t from the fireworks, it was a bullet.

KLIF Adds Dana Show Weekend
