Ted Byrne, a sports radio fixture in Charleston, SC, was killed in a traffic accident over the weekend. Kirkman Broadcasting confirmed the veteran broadcaster's death. Byrne was 71.

ESPN Dismisses 150

As has been widely reported for the past few weeks, ESPN has let go 150 employees. The sports network has been making cuts to try to keep up with declining revenue due to lost subscribers. It doesn't appear any cuts were made on the radio side. ESPN President John Skipper said the cuts were made in studio production, digital content, and technology.

Midwest Communications' Bob Harris is in the battle of his life. The KFGO Fargo host has been in the hospital since Thanksgiving when he experienced shortness of breath.
