Gura Joins NPR

David Gura has joined NPR as a business correspondent covering Wall Street, markets and finance. Gura started his career with a public radio as an intern at North Carolina Public Radio at his hometown station WUNC in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Dan Tops 300 Affiliates  

Cumulus says The Dan Bongino Show now has over 300 affiliates after just two months on the air. The former Secret Service agent also hosts a popular podcast and is seen regularly on Fox News.

iHeart Market President Pens Sales Book

The book is called Ace It! from iHeart New York Market President Bernie Weiss who started with iHeart as an AE in 2004. Weiss was also SVP of Sales for iHeart in New York. CEO Bob Pittman writes the foreword in the book which comes out September 7.

Davis Leaving iHeart End of Year

In an internal memo to iHeartMedia employees, CEO Bob Pittman announced that Darren Davis, Chief Operating Officer of iHeart's Digital Audio Group, is leaving the company at the end of the year. Davis has been on Radio Ink's 40 Most Powerful People in Radio for the last 7 years.

More Support For LRFA

Ten members of the House of Representatives and four Senators have added their support to The Local Radio Freedom Act. The legislation signals members of Congress's opposition to any potential legislation that imposes new performance royalties on broadcast radio stations for music airplay. 

WLS Bill Cameron Retiring

After a 51 year career, the 'Dean' of Chicago political reporters, Bill Cameron has announced his retirement. His last day on 890 WLS-AM will be August 20; his 21st anniversary on the station.

NAB Backs Journalism Sustainability Act

The Local Journalism Sustainability Act has been introduced in the Senate. Among the provisions; a five-year tax credit that incentivizes small businesses to advertise with local radio and television stations and local newspapers.
