The National Association of Broadcasters has been lobbying the government agency to loosen up its ownership rules and, following Wednesday's vote to approve Chairman Wheeler's proposal on media ownership, NAB Executive VP of Communications Dennis Wharton let the Commission know what he thought.

Spearman owns High Plains Radio Network and he's adding two more Arkansas signals to his growing portfolio of small-market stations. Arkansas broadcasters Jim and Nancy Howe are selling the stations for $475,000. These are the only two stations they owned.

BIA/Kelsey Says It Will Release Quarterly Radio Revenue Reports

As a result of the RAB's recent announcement that it would no longer release revenue numbers for radio, Radio Ink has learned that, starting with the third quarter, BIA/Kelsey will start releasing a "quarterly assessment" of the industry.

Beck Ordered To Reveal His Sources

In the weeks that followed the Boston Marathon bombing that killed three people and injured 264, Glenn Beck said on his show that Saudi Arabian student Abdulrahman Alharbi was the money man for the plot. Police interviewed Alharbi, who was injured in the bombing, and cleared him. Alharbi is sueing beck for defamation.
