On Monday, WTMJ Radio and 94.5 KTI COUNTRY raised over $69,000 during a fundraiser for disaster relief for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. The money will be given to the American Red Cross.

Utah Trust Station Sells For $1.1 Million

Aerostar Communications of Utah is purchasing KEGH-FM (Woodruff, UT) along with booster stations KEGH-FM1 (Ogden), KEGH-FM2 (Bountiful, UT), KEGH-FM3 (Salt Lake City), KEGH-FM4 (Provo) for $1,100,000 cash. KEGH-FM has been in the SLC Divestiture Trust II for 6 years. It was part of the Simmons Media Group divestiture in the Salt Lake market.

Beasley to Sponsor Latest Talent Institute

Beasley Media Group, in conjunction with Marketron Interactive and Xperi, have partnered with Dan Vallie's National Radio Talent System to unveil the Beasley Radio Talent Institute in Boston. The 10-day program will debut next summer at Emerson College. CEO Caroline Beasley said the company is committed to supporting and encouraging the development of new talent.

Canton Stations Raise $181,929 With Wish-A-Thon

Alpha Media’s News-Talk 1480 WHBC and Mix 94.1 raised the huge total along with AultCare for Wishes Can Happen, Inc. The Wish-A-Thon took place on August 10-11. Over the last 10 years, $1,037,862 has been raised for Wishes Can Happen.

Another Florida Pirate Put on Notice

Wilfrid Salomon of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida has ten days to shut down the illegal radio station the FCC caught him operating in July at 107.1-FM in Oakland Park. The Commission says Salomon was operating the pirate station from a commercial suite in Oakland Park.
