The National Black Radio Hall of Fame will hold its induction ceremony on October 7, 2023, in Atlanta, Georgia. The nomination ballots have been counted. The 2023 inductees will have their names placed in the Museum at Harris Stowe State University.

Talk about breaking new ground! 99.9 The Fan (WCMC-FM) will host its first-ever “Beer Academy” on Saturday, July 16, with proceeds going to the Me Fine Foundation. The event will be held at Bull Durham Beer Company inside the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in two sessions: 1-2:30 p.m. and 3:30-5 p.m.

Nothing like a good auction to get the blood pumping and the dollars flowing. On Friday, March 3  WHCU (Ithaca, NY) Morning Newswatch host Lee Rayburn auctioned off a different restaurant and wine pairing every hour to listeners. The auction raised $5,030 in 12 hours (6 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

After 60 years, the Bordes family was ready to sell, and when Caroline Beasley called Greater Media CEO Peter Smyth last November, he was ready to deal. In our interview with Smyth, he says the fit was right with Beasley, being that both are family-owned businesses. That's according to The Reading Eagle. The station was purchased out of bankruptcy just before it was about to go dark. WEEU in Reading has been on the air for over 90 years. Twilight Broadcasting purchased the station for $22,125 down with $66,375 to be paid at closing.
