Report: Cumulus Shutting Down Arkansas Radio Network

According to a report in Arkansas Business, after more than fifty years of broadcasting news, sports, and farm reports, the Arkansas Radio Network will be signing off next month. Based at KARN-FM in Little Rock, the network is owned by Cumulus.

WLS-AM in Chicago and KGO-AM in San Francisco are among the roster of 29 Cumulus news stations that will now carry ABC News following the closure of Westwood One's news department. 12 Cumulus-owned sports and music stations that will also take ABC's hourly newscasts.

On Wednesday, the official committee of unsecured creditors objected to Cumulus' plan to reorganize. That was followed by an objection by an ad hoc cross-holder committee. Cumulus quickly followed up with a statement that said the objections were normal and will not impact the company's restructuring timeline.
