According to a report in Arkansas Business, after more than fifty years of broadcasting news, sports, and farm reports, the Arkansas Radio Network will be signing off next month. Based at KARN-FM in Little Rock, the network is owned by Cumulus.

The creation of one of radio's most brilliant minds, turns 50 this year. Dick Orkin was born in Williamsport, PA, in 1933, and by age 16, he was ready to tackle radio.

The stations are Country Legends 106.9 and Big 94.5 Country, and the final tally for their joint, two-day radiothon was $90,380. Over the two days, more than 200 people called in to become a Partner in Hope.

WLS-AM in Chicago and KGO-AM in San Francisco are among the roster of 29 Cumulus news stations that will now carry ABC News following the closure of Westwood One's news department. 12 Cumulus-owned sports and music stations that will also take ABC's hourly newscasts.

On Wednesday, the official committee of unsecured creditors objected to Cumulus' plan to reorganize. That was followed by an objection by an ad hoc cross-holder committee. Cumulus quickly followed up with a statement that said the objections were normal and will not impact the company's restructuring timeline.

The Broadcasters Foundation of America raised over $200,000 to help broadcasters in need during Monday's 2021 Celebrity Golf Tournament at the Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Briarcliff Manor, NY.

Ramsey says everyone is missing the larger point: "The problem isn’t with the manufacturing of false headlines, it’s with the relationship between facts and beliefs in the human psyche. The annual The RTDNA/Hofstra University Survey on news staffing was released Monday and the results were basically flat. The survey showed the typical radio news operation had a full-time news staff of one, a number that has remained the same for decades.

On September 1st, Fox News Audio will launch a seven-part podcast series, entitled Fox News Rewind: 9/11, looking back at the events leading up to the attack. The series features a variety of FNC personalities and contributors.

The annual Edison Research study at the 2018 Country Radio Seminar will focus on smart speakers. According to new research, 71% of smart speaker owners who listen to country radio said listening to their favorite AM/FM radio station is a reason they wanted the device.
