SoundExchange Q2 Payout Down Slightly

The company that collects and distributes digital performance royalties to over 250,000 artists and master rights owners reported Wednesday that $241.6 million was distributed in Q2 this year. That's down just under 1% from Q2 a year ago and down from $245.4 million in Q1 of this year.

SoundExchange Leadership Changes

SoundExchange has promoted two on its legal team. The company also announced its Chief Legal Counsel will be stepping down at the end of the year.

SXM Media At IAB Podcast Upfronts

SXM Media, the combined advertising sales organization for SiriusXM, Pandora and Stitcher; has put together a panel discussion for the event. The panel will be made up of experts in programmatic space.

Xperi HD Tech For Motorbikes

Xperi HD Radio™ technology, has expanded into the motorbike category. HD Radio receivers are currently available on the digital dash display of the new 2022 BMW R 18 Transcontinental.

Cumulus Adds Content to Audacy App

The two radio companies announced on Wednesday that all 413 Cumulus radio stations and its entire portfolio of podcasts will now also be heard on the Audacy app. Cumulus does not have a stand-alone app like Audacy or the iHeartRadio app.

SiriusXM/Marvel Podcasts

SiriusXM is teaming up with Marvel Entertainment for Marvel Podcasts Unlimited. The premium subscription will be available on the new Marvel channel on Apple Podcasts.

SiriusXM Urban View Channel Additions

Four new weekly shows on race relations, culture, business, politics, law and medicine have been added to the channel. The new Sunday lineup debuts September 26.

Pandora Opens Happy Place

Pandora research has found the search term 'happy' has gone up 111%. In response, Pandora has added eight new stations to its' 'Happy Place'.

DJ Barbie

Mattel, Warner Music Group and iHeartMedia are bringing the iconic American doll, Barbie, to the digital bitstream. Barbie Radio, the first branded radio channel from Mattel, is a 24-hour digital only iHeartRadio station.

SiriusXM 360L As Standard Equipment

Jaguar Land Rover North America and SiriusXM have signed an agreement putting 360L in the New Range Rover. The package will be included starting in Spring 2022.
