Chicago based AccuRadio is working on putting up 100 holiday music channels by Christmas. Last year the independent personal radio streamer had 81 channels of holiday music.
“Will it be challenging for us to get to 100 stations? Absolutely. We’ve never done this before for any of our genres,” said Kurt Hanson founder and CEO. “For the holidays we wanted to do something really special, even if it means we have to spend more time in our record library creating playlists instead of baking cookies or drinking glögg.”
A year ago, AccuRadio made some waves, after a Texas bar banned Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas is You.” AccuRadio created a channel called ‘One Song Radio: All I Want For Christmas is You,’ featuring over four dozen versions of the song.
