The Nation has launched Going for Broke, in partnership with the Economic Hardship Reporting Project. Hosted by public broadcaster Ray Suarez, who himself faced economic instability in the latter half of his career, Going for Broke is about Americans on the edge, about poverty, and about solutions based on lived experience.
Suarez, who was most recently the host of Al Jazeera America’s daily news program, Inside Story, was previously a correspondent and anchor at public television’s nightly newscast, PBS NewsHour, where he rose to become chief national correspondent. He was also the Washington-based host of NPR’s Talk of the Nation for six-and-a-half years.
