Gene Kirchner, the former owner of WRDN in Durand, Wisconsin has died. He and his wife bought the station in 1986 and owned it for about 15 years.
Kirchner was a Navy veteran and spent about 40 years in broadcasting. In 1975 he started the AM-FM Radio Network that would rescue stations in poor financial health.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
