Bongino Taking Over Rush Slot on Cumulus Stations

The Dan Bongino Show,  syndicated by Cumulus’ Westwood One, will begin airing in the Noon to 3P slot once occupied by Rush Limbaugh on at least 30 Cumulus stations across the country as of May 24th. Among the markets Bongino will launch on include Cumulus owned stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, and Washington, DC.

Bongino is a former Secret Service agent and NYPD officer. He’s also run for office several times in a number of states and has written a number of best-selling books. Bongino is a Conservative and launched The Bongino Report when Matt Drudge’s Drudge Report started drifting away from Donald Trump.

He said he’s excited to embrace the immense power of radio to connect with his listeners live for three hours every day. “This is an incredible privilege, and I pledge to honor the trailblazing work of those who came before me.”

Westwood’s Suzanne Grimes said, “Dan is passionate and relatable, with a natural ability to connect with his audience. Dan has been on a meteoric rise since his podcast launched in 2019, and we look forward to watching his star continue to soar.”

      • That’s just the start, on Cumulus stations.

The company will find many, many more non-Cumulus affiliates for Bongino.

Rush did not run just on iHeart stations, and neither will Bongino run only on Cumulus outlets.

      • Remember, anyone attempting to replace Limbaugh absolutely will need to be controversial, outrageous, divisive, and hostile towards those with different views or lifestyles. Like it or not, that was the DNA that made Rush so successful, as measured by audience and revenue success.

        • He was simply an entertainer who knew there are many pathetic scared white people in this country who are afraid of losing their privilege, competing on an even playing field and having to get educated to get a job and figured he could make money of them. Just like the Reality Show Con Artist.

I can’t blame them for bilking the rubes and secretly wish I was shameless enough to be able to do it as well.

“It was miraculous. It was almost no trick at all, he saw, to turn vice into virtue and slander into truth, impotence into abstinence, arrogance into humility, plunder into philanthropy, thievery into honor, blasphemy into wisdom, brutality into patriotism, and sadism into justice. Anybody could do it; it required no brains at all. It merely required no character.” – Arthur Heller – Catch 22.

          • Bilking the rubes…Yes, if only you were as smart as Rush! But clearly, you’re not. As for that pesky white privilege we can’t seem to give up…minorities are flocking to the Republican Party. It’s an actual trend. Look it up.

          • Bongino and his viewers don’t give two shits about race. That is a think that only white libtards care about.

      • Dan is not a dope.I don’t always agree with everything
he says, but he was a Secret Service agent put his life
on the line and I think he’s ok. Mark Levin is really good,
but he did not want to leave his current 5pm time slot.

    1. The article says that Bongino will be on a Cumulus station in NY. The only station Cumulus owns in NY is an urban AC station. Are they going to put a conservative talk show on an urban AC station, or are they going to change the format?

      • The format of the Cumulus station in New York is country. That station is WNSH, “Nash FM”. They sold their talk station, WABC, and their hot AC station, WPLJ, is now owned by EMF and carries a contemporary Christian format.

      • The New York City affiliate will be WFAS-AM 1230, which is licensed to suburban Westchester County. But, WFAS is a 1000-watt Class C AM facility, so it does not reach very much of New York City proper.

It’s pretty certain that Cumulus is working on other NYC-area affiliates that will cover the areas not reached by WFAS.
