$20K & Nine Pick-Ups Filled With Toys

Bold Gold Media Group’s stations in the Pocono Lake region of Pennsylvania undertook two fundraisers this holiday season.

The Wayne County Ford & Bold Gold Media Holiday Toy Drive Challenge challenges listeners to help fill up at least four Ford pick-up trucks with toys at their local dealership. If they do, the dealership fills an additional truckload. This year, Bold Gold’s listeners filled up over eight trucks with thousands of toys, making for a total of over nine truckloads in support of local non-profit The Zipper Junction Project. A record year for the fundraiser!

Meanwhile, Bold Gold’s GM Michael G. Stanton’s 18th Annual Shower For Charity (see photo) raised over $20,000 for the Wayne County Children’s Christmas Bureau. Stanton took the shower in the dead of winter on Main Street in downtown Honesdale, PA, in the Poconos, pledging to stay there until he raised $20,000. It took three hours, wearing nothing but his Santa bathing suit. To date, the Shower for Charity has raised well over $250,000 for the Wayne County Children’s Christmas Bureau.

Bold Gold President, Vince Benedetto, said: “It’s profoundly moving how generous of a community we have in Northeast Pennsylvania and how much they support our stations’ efforts. Many years ago, when we made the decision to attempt to do two large fundraising efforts concurrently, we wondered if both could be successful. Our wonderful listeners have answered that question with their generous support and kindness.”
