The FCC has notified Lake Worth, FL, resident Charles Goodwin that he was operating his low-power transmitter on 88.7 at levels above the legal limit.
The field strength of the signal on frequency 88.7 was measured at levels exceeding the maximum permitted level of 250 microvolts per meter (µV/m) at three meters for non-licensed devices. That makes Goodwin a pirate.
The Commission says Goodwin’s station was causing harmful interference to AT&T’s licensed wireless service in the 700 MHz Lower Band.
Once Goodwin was notified, according to the FCC filing, he turned off his transmitter. He has 10 days to respond to the Commission’s letter.
