Matt Jones will no longer co-host “Hey Kentucky” on WLEX Radio. Jones has been considering a run for Senate and is writing a book called “Mitch, Please” about Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell.
WLEX VP/GM Pat Dalbey provided the following statement to WLEX TV. “Matt Jones is no longer with ‘Hey Kentucky!’ As a broadcaster of balanced and unbiased news and information, WLEX has an obligation to fairness across its platforms and we believe this decision is consistent with that commitment. ‘Hey Kentucky!’ and WLEX will continue to cover Kentucky’s U.S. Senate race with the same objectivity and transparency with which it reports all political races and other stories important to its Lexington community.”
Story is wrong…WLEX is a television station…NBC affiliate in Lexington. Jones’ Kentucky Sports Radio program is still on the air and he is on it….
