In Chicago, WDRV-FM’s The Sherman & Tingle Show has had great success with its “Give a Vet a Pet” campaign. In partnership with the 1 Pet – 1 Vet charitable organization, the show raised enough money in one week (April 1-5) to provide two service dogs to local veterans suffering from PTSD. The costs associated with providing each service dog total $15,000.
The Sherman & Tingle Show raised a total of $83,000 during the campaign – enough to pair five service dogs with veterans.
Brian Sherman and Steve Tingle said, “It is an honor to be able to help provide better lives for Chicago-area veterans who are in need of assistance. The benefits these service animals provide is awe-inspiring. The Drive’s loyal audience is as generous as they come.”
